“To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes…” Isaiah 61:3

“A year ago, the rug was pulled out from under me. I was pregnant with my second child when my marriage ended, and life as I knew it shattered. God brought me to a brand-new place, with a brand-new start, and a new church community. I found myself walking into the Single Moms group—broken, afraid, and about to give birth. Just one week before I had my baby, these women prayed over me and threw me the most beautiful shower. I felt seen. Loved. Covered.
In just one year, God has completely transformed my life—my heart, my mind, and my relationship with my children. I now have the honor of helping to lead that same Single Moms group that once held me in my brokenness. I also serve as a worship leader, lifting my voice in praise to the God who carried me through it all. This past Sunday marked the one-year anniversary of when everything fell apart—and without even realizing it, I was scheduled to sing in church on the exact same day. One year to the day. God pre-planned what I couldn’t have imagined. He knew. He sees the full picture, and He has held my hand and my children’s hands every step of the way.He is truly redeeming my pain for His purpose!”
We are rejoicing and giving much thanks to the Lord for rewriting Kayleen’s story! We are extremely proud of her as she is using her testimony of faith to help others experience hope, healing and restoration.
God's Redeeming Promise is to replace sorrow, mourning, and despair with joy, honor, and divine favor. In the Bible, ashes symbolized grief, repentance, and humility. God's promise of beauty for ashes is a divine reversal of rewriting our stories, where He transforms our difficult circumstances into something beautiful and meaningful…for HIS REDEEMING PURPOSE!

Are you letting your heavy circumstances weigh you down?
God wants to breathe new life into your spirit!
Does God make beauty out of ashes?
He sure does, but when you are sitting in a pile of ashes, it takes great faith to dare to believe this promise.
Rise up out of the ashes and take that step of faith!
God promises to walk with you through the valley of “the shadow of death” as your Loving Shepherd who cares deeply for you! (Psalm 23)
Remember these truths:
God is good all the time and He loves you outrageously!
When you are in despair, He offers you His crown of beauty, oil of gladness, and invites you to put on the garment of praise in exchange for your ashes. You just have to invite Him into your sadness and allow Him to restore you.

Father, I pray for Your beloved daughters who are feeling weighed down with heavy burdens. As they come to Your throne of mercy and grace, give them hope and help to find peace and rest in You, their Loving Shepherd. Give them strength to rise up out of the ashes and take steps of faith as You bestow on them YOUR CROWN OF BEAUTY in the Powerful Name of JESUS, AMEN!
