Karen Brooks has been married to Paul, who led her to Christ, for 47 years. They have two adult children, Bryan and Kari, and one GRANDBLESSING, Marlee, who is 4 years old. Karen and Paul live in Apollo Beach, Florida and serve faithfully in their Church. She currently leads the Strong & Courageous Single Moms Ministry as well as the Freedom For Women Biblical Course.

Karen served in the Pregnancy Care Ministry for nearly 25 years battling for LIFE and the Hope of the Gospel. After retiring, she began volunteering at the US Institute Against Human Trafficking in 2018 providing victims with services and resources for recovering, healing and restoration. She and her Board of Directors started a non-profit in 2019 and opened HER LightHouse, a home for pregnant survivors and their babies coming out of sexual exploitation and trafficking, in 2021. This proved to be a heart wrenching journey that God has healed and redeemed to birth the new mission of “HIS Redeeming Purpose” in her.

For thirty years, Karen has been serving, encouraging and mentoring women through leading Bible Studies, ministry and speaking. Karen’s passionate calling is to empower and strengthen women to rise up as they fulfill God’s Redeeming Purpose in their lives for His Kingdom and Glory!
