I first met Ashley when she came through our Church’s support drive-through offering hurricane relief in September 2024. I was blessed to be a Prayer Partner giving HOPE as we prayed for nearly 100 people experiencing such a devastating crisis.

When God divinely placed me to pray over Ashley and her family, I had no idea of what would take place. She asked me to pray for peace and guidance and through tears, I prayed for her and then invited her to come to our Church to be loved on and have a family of faith surround her. She cried after our prayer and as she was driving away, my heart was so touched and burdened for her; I so wished I had more time to spend loving on her. I asked the Lord to be with her and draw her and family to our Church.
Well, she DID start coming and has been attending faithfully for 6 months!! I didn’t even know and had not seen her because we have 3 services. She forgot my name but had been looking for me. It was not until I walked into our Freedom Biblical Course last month and sat next to her at the same table, when she heard my voice and said, “It’s you…the one that prayed for me!!”
You can just imagine the tears and hugs we shared when she told me the full story. She has recommitted her heart to Christ and is “all in” to learn and grow as a Christ follower. She has attended our Newcomer Luncheon, Wellspring Culture, Spiritual Foundations, Women’s Event & Tribe Nights, Freedom & now Finance 101 Course!!! We are walking through Freedom Course together and God has called me to disciple/mentor her on her faith journey.
I am beyond grateful to the Lord for answering my prayers for her in drawing her and family to our Church and for giving us more time to spend together!!
God is redeeming Ashley’s pain and rewriting her story for the display of HIS Splendor! AND, He has reminded me once again that if we are faithful and obedient to plant seeds of love, hope and faith, we WILL get to witness the fruit…sometimes even like Ashley…OR when we get to heaven and hear Him say, “Well done, My good and faithful servant!”“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
How is God redeeming your pain and rewriting your story?
In what ways are you growing and flourishing as an “oak of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of HIS Splendor?
We need each other as women! Who can you develop a relationship with to mentor or to be mentored?
Father, thank YOU for using Ashley’s Story to encourage and strengthen me along with my sweet friends today! Your Word encourages us to build each other up as women. In seeking Your Heart, show us women we can encourage and mentor or women of God who can mentor us.
Help us to not grow weary in well doing and to remember that as we are faithful and obedient, YOU promise that we WILL witness the fruit of our labor…if not now, when we stand before YOU in heaven and hear you say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant daughter.” Matthew 25:23
